Highs and Lows – 雷霆掃毒 TVB 2012

As a Senior Inspector of the Narcotics Bureau Operation Unit, Heung Wing (Miu Kiu Wai) profoundly abhors evil. He and Wai Sai-Lok (Raymond Lam) – Senior Inspector of the Intelligence Unit have closely co-operated with each other as peer mentors, frequently solving drug trafficking cases for the Police Force. During an operation to knock down the targets, Sai-Lok discovers clues that Heung Wing is most likely the corrupt cop in a collusion conspiracy with drug dealers. Apart from launching a secret investigation into Heung Wing, Sai-Lok is also alienated from him by the evil-willed Chief Inspector of the Operation Unit – Pun Hok-Lai (Ben Wong). Having undergone various disputes against each other, the long-term brotherly relationship between SAI-LOK and HEUNG WING appears full of contradictions. On the other hand, following an investigation, Sai-Lok falls in love with a snitch – Chan Ka-Pik (Kate Tsui), who suffers from low self-esteem due to her humble beginning. Deliberately denying her affection to Sai-Lok , Ka-Pik gives up on him so that his secret admirer – Ko Hei-Suen (Ella Koon), a rookie police officer, can have the chance, leading to a subtle relationship among the three. Feeling life is so dreary, KA-PIK ultimately digs her own grave by becoming a new generation of drug dealer, involved in drug trafficking and provoking the Police Force. With intense sorrow, Sai-Lok then joins forces with Heung Wing against Ka-Pik , waging a chain of bitter battles.

Plot Summary: "The Big Fix" is part daring journalism, part archival investigation and part eco-horror story.

Through interviews with scientists, government officials, journalists (including Rolling Stone's Jeff Goodell who examined the Gulf spill in his article "The Poisoning"), attorneys (including New Orleans Toxic Tort attorney Stuart Smith) and Gulf States natives, "The Big Fix" recounts the events surrounding the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico and paints a disturbing picture of the aftermath of the largest oil spill in America's history.

"The Big Fix" reveals the powerful political and corporate system that put profits over the health and long-term sustainability of people and the environment. No matter what the petroleum and government officials say, the oil is still coming ashore, the seafood industry is wiped out, and many people of the locals are sick.

Shrimp with no eyes, fish with tumors, fish with oil in their guts – this disaster is happening right now - once the largest processor of brown shrimp in the United States, in the film. Up to 30% of the nation's seafood in a given year comes from Louisiana. Toxicologists studying the fish from Louisiana waters are finding heightened levels of cancer-causing carcinogens.

"The Big Fix" also explores the complicit behavior of the US government in the long-term use of the chemical dispersant, Corexit 9527, a known hemolytic (blood thinner). In an unexpected twist of fate, Co-Director/Producer Rebecca Harrell Tickell became severely ill after being exposed to the oil and Corexit mixture while filming. Her health struggle is cataloged in the film.

Paranormal Activity 4': Tackling Its Most Mysterious Questions

Though the films have always taken on the same narrative structure, each installment of the "Paranormal Activity" series has moved the overarching story forward in big ways. What started as a simple haunting grew into something much bigger, involving a witches' coven and child sacrifice.

With "Paranormal Activity 4" just a few weeks away, we have to wonder what secrets about Toby and his evil plans will be revealed this time around. These are the questions we still have going in.

Is Robbie actually Hunter?
We're confident that we already have the answer to this one. Hunter went missing at the end of "Paranormal Activity 2," and for this installment, the action is picking up about five years later. The time jump would put Hunter roughly at Robbie's age. The previews thus far have all but come out and said Robbie is Hunter, but we'll hold on any definitive answer at this point. It would be quite the twist if Robbie wasn't, in fact, the missing child.
What Happened to Katie?
Let's assume for a second that Robbie is Hunter and that his "mom" is Katie, who in reality is his possessed aunt. The setup of "Paranormal Activity 4" involves an accident occurring, placing Robbie's "mom" in the hospital and the boy saddled with the across-the-street neighbors, since he doesn't have any other family. (Hmm.) But what happened to Katie? Could Toby's transfer from her body to Hunter's have had some negative effects? Is it all a ruse? Either way, the latest trailer hints that she'll make an appearance at some point, so we'll have to wait and see.
Why Does Toby Want A Boy?
"Paranormal Activity 2" expanded the mythology behind the invisible demon. It seems that all the demon has ever been interested in is young boy, and then "Paranormal Activity 3" fleshed out that storyline even more with the introduction of Grandma Lois and her wicked, baby boy-obsessed friends. But now that Toby has his hands on a male child, what's the next step? Does Hunter grow up to be the anti-Christ? Does Toby just straight-up eat hunter? We have no idea, and it's the next logical answer from the mythology.
Are There More Witches?
Speaking of Grandma Lois, have we seen the last of the witches' coven? They made such a terrifying impression during the breathless conclusion of "Paranormal Activity 3" that we would be at least a little disappointed if they didn't turn up this time around.
How Is Alice Connected?
For the first time in the series history, the focus has shifted off of the Katie and Kristi. Our new lead, Alice, is a teenage girl who enjoys Skyping with her boyfriend, playing Xbox, and is seemingly unconnected to the haunted family of the first three installments. What's the point of messing with Alice and her family unless the demonic Toby is up to something?
